Mom’s Night Out! Just what the doctor ordered. 👍

Attention All Mom Squads! 🍕🧘‍♀️💃

Gather 'round, you beautiful, sleep-deprived warriors! It's time to rally the troops for a priority mission… Mom's Night Out! Yes, you heard that right, a night where the only thing you'll be wrangling is your sanity back from the brink.

Why Should You Go?

 Because you deserve it!:

After endless rounds of "Mom, can you..? Mom, I need…? MOM, HELP!!!" coupled with cleaning up messes that seem to magically reappear when you take the 30 second pee break you’ve waited 3 hours for, you’ve earned a break.

Mama-neuvers:

Swap strategies on how to get your little ones to eat things that are green. Share hacks for everything from potty training to keeping your kid from dropping the f-bomb after you blurred it out in traffic.

Sanity Check:

Remind yourself that you're not alone in this wild, wonderful world of motherhood. Seeing other moms in the same boat might just help you laugh instead of cry your way through the beautifully insane mom days… or daze. 😁

Why Is This So Important?

Mental Health:

You're not just a mom; you're a person with needs, desires and a purpose. Hanging with fellow moms, who can empathize with your struggles and joys, can help you to rediscover a sense of self—allowing you to refocus on a balanced set of goals and priorities. Well, as balanced as you can be while juggling child rearing, cooking, cleaning, errands, etc.

Community:

It's a chance to build your village. Back in the day, evolutionarily speaking, we would’ve been part of an actual village. We are not built to be alone in our homes all day. I spent waaay too much time isolated in my apartment with my little guy when he was an infant. In my case this led to extreme chubbiness and slight hypochondria, not the magical combination I was expecting in early motherhood. Just spending some time with friends can get us out of our heads, off of our couches and back into life.

Life Beyond Diapers:

As far fetched as it may seem right now, try to remember that there's a world out there where conversations don't revolve around navigating nap times and the dangers of screen time.

What ever shall we do?

Karaoke Night- Get up there and SING girl!  Whether you sound like Whitney Houston or an injured coyote, grab the mic and give it all you’ve got! Bonus- singing is wonderful for your mental, emotional, physical and even spiritual health, so even if others are struggling to listen to you, rest assured you’ll feel great!

Live Comedy Show- Instead of sneaking into the bathroom to cry after spending 2 hours cooking a gourmet organic meal that your family has dubbed, “disgusting”, go out and giggle with the girls. Laughter is the truly the best medicine so head on over to tour local laugh factory for some Ha, Ha, Ha healing. 😂🤣😂

Have a “You Can Do It” fiesta!- Gather your supplies, print some pics, listen to a little Tony Robbins and then make a super awesome Vision Board. I’ve done this and it’s AMAZING! So many women have shared their stories of how effective goal setting and vision boards can be for recalibrating your motivation muscles. 💪

Board Game Night- Dust off those boxes and get ready for some fun! Whether it’s thinking with Trivial Pursuit, singing and sculpting in Cranium or drawing some Pictionary, a little friendly competition can get your juices flowing.

Volunteering Venture- This one’s a win-win. Whether it’s playing bingo with seniors, tutoring kids or helping someone who’s new to the good ole USA to learn English, you’ll find that in giving you really do receive; love, joy and fulfillment. ❤️

Dancing Queens- Hit the club or even just a fun class with your girls. Bring your mom-mom-mambo to the dance floor and enjoy shaking your groove thang!

Cooking Class- This can be a fun one if you’d like to enjoy an evening where you  prepare something a little gourmet. Chicken fingers have their charm, of course, but this can be a chance to play ‘Chopped’ and dine on some fancy fare with your friends.

We could go on & on of course. You might also think about checking out Zumba, a book club, mini golf, yoga, spa day, bowling or even just a ladies lunch.

Start a group chat and schedule a date!

Remember this periodic escape plan isn’t just for you. When mom is happy, the hubby and kids will follow suit. The opposite is also true, so if you find yourself feeling snappy, TAKE A BREAK! Grab your friends, your sense of humor and maybe even your dancing shoes and let’s make this a night to remember.
